DUMITRU LĂCĂTUŞU

PhD in History from the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University in Iasi. His dissertation focused on the communist repression and the role of bureaucrats of power in communist Romania (1948-1968). In recent years, he was an expert scholar at The Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and the Memory of the Romanian Exile (2006-2013) and research assistant at the University of Bucharest (2013-2017). Among his recent publications are ”Alexandru Visinescu. His main areas of interest are the history of the Secret Police in communist countries, repressive politics, the biographies of political perpetrators, the anticommunist resistance in Eastern Europe, the interwar communist movement, and public history.
